E Julien Coyne - artist, tech person, dilletante

I live in southern Maine and do a bunch of creative stuff. Most of that is collected at my site ROSE ACOLYTE.

Right now a couple of other things are elsewhere online, such as:

PHOTOGRAPHY

(I also take photos of weddings, events, people, etc, not just rainy lakes.)

VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT

I do also have a day job in tech, where I am currently a software product manager. (I have been a software engineer, customer support person, and "general do-everything-project-management-person" in the past.) I do have a LinkedIn with more details about this, which you can look at if you feel you must.

Further in the past, I also went to school. I did undergraduate study and got a masters' degree in physics and philosophy from the University of Oxford (2011-2015). Before that I went to high school at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (2008-2011).

I've also done a little bit of illustration and book cover design.

Q: Why do you call yourself a dilletante?

A: A dilletante is a person who cultivates an area of interest, such as the arts, without real commitment or knowledge, aka a dabbler (derogatory). I think of myself this way because I do all these different things but am not as serious about any of them as I wish I were. I am making fun of this by calling myself a dilletante.
